About Me Rob Bernosky for Lieutenant Governor
I have lived in California for over 40 years, beginning my career as a general accountant in Culver City and still a Chief Financial Officer today. We raised our family of 3 in San Benito County, close to Silicon Valley where I was in the world of high-tech startups. Over time I began a speciality practice of assisting distressed companies to turn them around. This involves finding capital, making management more productive, and sometimes arranging successful exits for the founders. My roles often include heading up not only financial functions, but human resources, legal, operations, and the board room.
This business background gives me huge insight into what makes California great - the people, the entrepreneurship, the wanting to be on the leading edge - and what makes California horrible for business - the regulations, the laws, the utility costs, the housing costs, the traffic, the taxes. In addition to a career that lends itself to seeing the good and bad of California, I have been elected to 2 school boards, ran a water company, was secretary to a water district that is about to become California's next largest water storage (Pacheco Pass Water District). Today I am very involved in the community hospital crisis California is experiencing.
Providing even more insight, I was a regional vice chair and board member of the country's largest Republican Party: the California GOP. During my tenure and after, we were outsmarted at every turn. Voter-motor registration, pre-registration, private money getting involved in county election departments, vote-by-mail, ballot harvesting, Medicaid expansion, Covered California, you name it.
That is why I am running for this important position.
